ABOUT THIS BLOG: This blog will serve as two blogs in one.

1. One will be for posting many articles on the Charismatic/Cessationist debate that I have gathered from the WWW.

2. The other will be for my (Damon Whitsell”s) research and writings on the subject, which I hope to work into book or pamphlet form for professional or self publishing. publishing.

ABOUT THE TITLE: I chose the title “Why I am Not a Charismatic” because this is not only an Endeavour to further solidify my convictions that the Pentecostal/Charismatic (and their offspring) Movements are leading people astray and into the hands of the Anti-Christ But it is also my personal plea to all Charismatic Christians. I have studied this issue every intensely for intermittent periods since 1985 when I was briefly involved in the Movement. I pray that some people will be helped by me sharing “Why I am Not a Charismatic” and “WHY I don’t think you should be neither.”

I pray the Lord will give me a true “Irenic Spirit” to approach this Endeavour.

ABOUT THE SUBTITLE: It came from J LEE GRADY’S (editor of Charisma Magazine) article located here AND on this blog.

In the August 13, 2008 FireInMyBones.com article named “Life After Lakeland: Sorting Out the Confusion”,,, Grady claims “A prominent Pentecostal evangelist called me this week after Bentley’s news hit the fan. He said to me: “I’m now convinced that a large segment of the charismatic church will follow the anti-Christ when he shows up because they have no discernment.” Ouch. Hopefully we’ll learn our lesson this time and apply the necessary caution when an imposter shows up.”
